Dr. S. Babu Gave Live Radio Interview on Diarrhoea on FM Rainbow

Dr. S. Babu, Senior Consultant, Pediatrics, gave a live interview on “Hello Doctor,” aired on FM Rainbow 101.4 MHz on 1 June 2026. During the session, he spoke about diarrhoea, creating awareness about its causes, prevention, early recognition, and appropriate management in children. The interactive program also addressed listeners’ queries, promoting better public understanding of child health and preventive care.

Dr. Nabeel Nazeer Presented Research at the European Hernia Society Congress 2026

Dr. Nabeel Nazeer, Deputy Head, Department of Minimal Access and General Surgery, and Advanced Laparoscopic, Robotic GI, Hernia & Abdominal Wall Reconstruction (AWR) Surgeon, represented Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals at the 48th Annual International Congress of the European Hernia Society (EHS 2026), held in Porto, Portugal, from 3–5 June 2026. He successfully presented four scientific papers, including an original research study conducted at Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals.

It highlighted evidence-based practices that promote optimal growth, neurodevelopment, and family-centered care for newborns in neonatal intensive care settings.

Department of Anaesthesia Conducted CME on Intraoperative Neuromonitoring

The Department of Anaesthesia organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on Intraoperative Neuromonitoring on 5 June 2026. The session was delivered by Dr. Arul Velan, Senior Consultant, MGM Healthcare, and focused on the role of intraoperative neuromonitoring in enhancing surgical precision, preserving neurological function, and improving patient safety during complex surgical procedures.

Dr. Priya Kannappan Contributed as Quiz Master and Speaker at TNFOG Annual Conference 2026

Dr. Priya Kannappan, Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, actively contributed to the TNFOG Annual State Conference 2026, held in Kodaikanal from 5–7 June 2026. On 6 June, she served as Quiz Master for the Oncology Quiz, facilitating an engaging academic session that enhanced participants’ knowledge of gynecologic oncology through interactive, case-based discussions.

On 7 June, she delivered a lecture titled “Ear to Electrode – Intrapartum CTG in Fetal Monitoring,” highlighting the role of cardiotocography (CTG) in fetal surveillance and emphasizing evidence-based approaches to intrapartum fetal monitoring. Her active participation reflected her commitment to medical education and advancing clinical excellence in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Dr. Sharada Sathish Published Research in BMJ Public Health

Dr. Sharada Sathish, Senior Consultant, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, co-authored an original research article titled “What Are the Initial Research Priorities for Paediatric Emergency Medicine in India? A Prioritisation Study,” which was published in the prestigious international journal, BMJ Public Health. 

Dr. Lakshmi V Participated as Panelist at IAP NEOCON

Dr. Lakshmi V, Head of the Department of Neonatology (NICU), participated as a panelist in a discussion on Neonatal Nutrition at IAP NEOCON, held in Vijayawada from 12–14 June 2026. The panel discussion focused on evidence-based nutritional practices and strategies to optimize the growth and health of newborns.

Dr. Vinayak Rengan Recognized at Bharat Innovates 2026 for Surgical Intelligence Innovation

Dr. Vinayak Rengan, Pediatric Surgeon, was recognized at Bharat Innovates 2026, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for developing Surgical Intelligence, an innovative deep-tech solution designed to help surgeons make data-driven decisions in the operating room. 

Dr. Priya Kannappan Delivered Expert Talks and Participated in Academic Sessions on Women's Health

Dr. Priya Kannappan, Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, delivered a lecture at the AIIM 2026 Meet, held at Hyatt Regency, Chennai, on 20 June 2026. Her presentation, titled “Lean PCOS – Is It a Different Disease and What’s New in PCOS?”, focused on emerging concepts and recent advances in the diagnosis and management of lean polycystic ovary syndrome.

Thyroid Screening Camp Successfully Conducted on Velappanchavadi Campus

A Thyroid Screening Camp was successfully conducted on 21 June 2026. The initiative aimed to promote awareness and facilitate the early detection of thyroid disorders, enabling timely diagnosis, appropriate medical intervention, and improved long-term health outcomes. Dr. Divya Bharathi and Dr. Hariharan Pandurangan Manamohan Delivered Expert Sessions at National Trauma Life Support (NTLS) Program

The National Trauma Life Support (NTLS) Program was conducted at Sundaram Medical Foundation, Chennai, on 22 and 23 June 2026, bringing together healthcare professionals to strengthen trauma care knowledge and clinical management skills.

As part of the academic program, Dr. Hariharan Pandurangan, Consultant, Emergency Medicine, delivered a session on Thoracic Trauma, while Dr. Divya Bharathi Manamohan, Head and Consultant – Emergency Medicine, delivered a session on Faciomaxillary Trauma. Their expert-led presentations focused on evidence-based approaches to trauma assessment, timely intervention, and multidisciplinary management, contributing significantly to the success of the program.

Dr. Prabhakar D. Co-Authored Nationwide Coronary Artery Disease Study Published in JACC Asia

Dr. Prabhakar D., Consultant, Cardiology, co-authored the LAI-LCARE nationwide research study titled “Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Goal Attainment in Indian Patients with Coronary Artery Disease: A Nationwide Study,” which was published in JACC Asia, a prestigious international peer-reviewed journal in cardiovascular medicine. The multicentric study, involving 115 cardiologists and over 10,000 patients across India, evaluated LDL cholesterol goal attainment in patients with coronary artery disease and provided valuable real-world evidence to improve lipid management and cardiovascular outcomes.

Dr. Seetha Lakshmi Presented Research at the IUGA Annual Meeting
