Neonatal Intensive Care
Overview
Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals operates one of the country’s largest and most advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). Since its establishment in 1996-97, our 30-bed NICU has received accreditation as a Level 3B unit from the National Neonatal Forum of India. We offer exceptional care to extremely preterm infants, including micro-preemies and those born as early as 23 weeks gestation, with birth weights as low as 400-500 grams. Our team of expert neonatologists and specialized nursing staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure the highest standard of care for neonates in critical condition.
In addition to our comprehensive in-house care, we offer dedicated neonatal transport services with fully equipped ambulances, ensuring safe and timely transfers within a 100-200 km radius. Our NICU is also well-equipped for neonatal surgical emergencies, offering round-the-clock care and access to specialized neonatal surgeons.
Beyond discharge, we provide extensive follow-up care, including eye and hearing screenings and developmental support to ensure the continued growth and well-being of preterm and critically ill newborns. Our NICU team is also dedicated to delivering high-quality care, with ongoing education and training programs for healthcare professionals.
