This July, Dr. Mehta’s Multi-Speciality Hospital is raising awareness about the silent complications of diabetes—neuropathy, retinopathy, and nephropathy. With over 101 million Indians living with diabetes, these organ-threatening conditions often progress unnoticed until they become severe or irreversible. Early screening for nerve damage, vision changes, and kidney health is essential to protect long-term wellbeing.









Doctors’ Day Celebration 2025

German Nursing Students Gain Hands-On Pediatric Experience

From June 30 to July 23, 2025, seven nursing students from Germany successfully completed their clinical posting in the Pediatric Specialty at Dr. Mehta’s Multispecialty Hospitals, Chennai. During this immersive program, the students had the opportunity to rotate through various Pediatric units, including the Pediatric Wards, PICU, operating theatre, NICU, and Outpatient services, gaining comprehensive exposure to child healthcare practices.
The students demonstrated remarkable discipline, cooperation, and enthusiasm, actively engaging with the nursing team and observing Pediatric procedures with keen interest. Their curiosity, attentiveness, and commitment to learning were highly appreciated by the hospital staff, reflecting the value of international clinical collaborations in nurturing future healthcare professionals.

Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program Training

The Department of Nursing organized an Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training on 19th July 2025 at the Basement Auditorium, Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals, Chennai. The session brought together 42 participants, including nurses and Pediatric care providers, who were guided by six certified instructors.
The program emphasized evidence-based NRP guidelines and included both theoretical instruction and hands-on training through skill stations and simulation-based learning. Participants demonstrated marked improvement in confidence and preparedness to manage neonatal emergencies, further strengthening the hospital’s commitment to excellence in new-born care.
Observer Role at NRP Provider Course
Ms. Udaya Rani participated as an Observer in the NRP Provider Course held at the Chetpet Unit of Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals. The experience provided her with valuable exposure to structured neonatal resuscitation training and enhanced her understanding of evidence-based new-born care practices.





Pediatric Critical Care Nursing Workshop Elevates Skills

On 11th July 2025, Dr. Mehta’s Multispecialty Hospitals, Global Campus hosted a Pediatric Critical Care Nursing Workshop, bringing together 77 dedicated nurses from across Chennai to enhance their expertise in caring for critically ill children.
The workshop featured interactive learning sessions and five hands-on skill stations that focused on critical areas such as respiratory support, ventilator care, hemodynamic monitoring, raised ICP management, and securing lines with care bundles. Participants also engaged in practical exercises covering systematic patient assessment, ISBAR communication, medication error prevention, safe transport practices, and crisis resource management (CRM) with quality CPR.
Through this comprehensive program, nurses gained invaluable experience in both clinical procedures and collaborative patient care, fostering improved communication, safety, and clinical excellence in Pediatric critical care. The event underscored the hospital’s commitment to continuous professional development and the highest standards of Pediatric nursing care.



National IAP CPR Day: Strengthening Lifesaving Skills

Talk on CAKUT at Mediscans

On 22nd July 2025, Dr. Kalaivani Ganesan delivered a lecture on CAKUT Antenatal Hydronephrosis at Mediscans. The session explored the importance of antenatal detection, multidisciplinary management, and long-term follow-up in children with congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract.



Dr. M. Raghul Showcases Advances in Pediatric Surgery at State Conference

First-Ever Hernia Workshop in Collaboration with Medtronic India

First Advanced Laparoscopic eTEP Rives-Stoppa Hernioplasty

A pioneering surgical milestone was achieved at Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals when a 38-year-old female with Class II obesity and multiple midline defects with divarication of recti underwent a laparoscopic eTEP Rives-Stoppa Hernioplasty. Despite financial constraints, the surgical team innovatively performed the procedure using a 30 x 24 cm mesh without the need for expensive composite mesh or tackers, significantly reducing the cost burden. This was the first such surgery performed at Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals, showcasing the institution’s dedication to patient-centered, affordable, and advanced surgical care.
