Dr. Priya Kannapan Led the RODEM in PPH Station at AICOG 2026

Dr. Priya Kannapan from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology served as faculty for the RODEM in the PPH station at the PPH Workshop held on 14 January 2026 during AICOG (All India Congress of Obstetrics & Gynaecology) in Delhi.

During the workshop, she trained participants on structured, evidence‑based algorithms for managing Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH), emphasizing rapid response, protocol‑driven actions, and hands‑on skills essential for obstetric emergencies. Her contribution strengthened clinical preparedness and supported improved emergency obstetric care outcomes.

The Department of Paediatrics marked a strong academic presence at PEDICON 2026, the 63rd Annual Conference of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, with faculty members contributing across high-impact scientific sessions.

Dr. Annamalai Vijayaraghavan served as Faculty at the TOT – Infectious Diseases Manthan on 16 January 2026. He delivered a session titled “Plate to Potential Ricket Pitfalls: Spot the Mistake”, focusing on diagnostic accuracy and clinical decision-making in pediatric infectious diseases.

Dr. N. C. Gowri Shankar was the Moderator for the panel discussion “Hemoptysis in Children: OPD Approach for Non-Pulmonologists”, facilitating a practical, case-based discussion focused on improving frontline pediatric care.

Dr. Priya Kannapan from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology participated as a Panelist in a session on “Autoimmune Disorders in Pregnancy” at the AICOG 2026 Conference, held on 16th January 2026 in Delhi.

During the discussion, she highlighted key clinical challenges, maternal–fetal risks, diagnostic pathways, and multidisciplinary management strategies essential for caring for pregnant women with autoimmune conditions. Her insights contributed to improving awareness and strengthening evidence‑based approaches in high‑risk obstetrics.

Dr. Annamalai Vijayaraghavan Elected as Fellow of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics

CME on AUB L Conducted at Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals

A Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on AUB‑L (Abnormal Uterine Bleeding – Leiomyoma related) was conducted at Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals on 21st January 2026.

The program focused on the latest guidelines and clinical approaches for diagnosing and managing AUB‑L, with emphasis on evidence‑based medical therapy, minimally invasive surgical options, and personalized patient care pathways. The CME provided updated insights for clinicians, enhancing their understanding of fibroid‑related bleeding and improving decision‑making in everyday gynecological practice.

Dr. Vinayak Rengan Presented Two Research Papers and Won Best Paper Award

On 23rd January 2026, Dr. Vinayak Rengan from the Department of Paediatric Surgery presented two notable research papers at a reputed scientific forum, showcasing innovation and technological advancement in pediatric minimally invasive surgery:

“Pneumovesicoscopy – Simplifying Port Placement”
“Use of AI in Locating Ureteric Orifices in Children”

Among the two papers, his AI-based research earned the Best Paper Presentation Award, recognizing his work in integrating digital innovation into pediatric surgery.

Dr. Priya Kannapan, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, served as the Moderator for a panel discussion on Primary Amenorrhea at the FOGSI Conference held in Langkawi on 26th January 2026.

Her participation highlighted our hospital’s expertise on an international academic platform and reinforced its commitment to advancing women’s health through meaningful clinical discussions.

First Fetal Echocardiography Workshop at Chetpet Campus – A Successful Event

The first Fetal Echocardiography Workshop at Dr. Mehta’s Chetpet campus was a great success. The one‑day program covered Basic Skills in the morning and Advanced Imaging in the afternoon, with 42 doctors participating (34 in Basic and 35 in Advanced batches), evenly split between fetal medicine/OBG and radiology.

Dr. C. Shanthi led the sessions through live demos, OPUS simulator training (supported by Mediscan Medialogic), and case discussions. The workshop ran smoothly with excellent support from the scan room team under Dr. Anand, Mehta’s obstetricians, radiology team, and Ms. Angel for venue, IT, and logistics coordination. Food arrangements from Mehta’s canteen were also appreciated.

Participants shared positive feedback, describing it as a well-executed and valuable learning program.

Dr. Sivasubramaniam K, Consultant – Medical Oncology, was invited as a Guest Speaker at the Central Bank of India, Regional Office.

During the session, he addressed employees on key aspects of cancer awareness, early detection, lifestyle‑related risk reduction, and the importance of timely medical consultation. His talk provided practical insights on maintaining long‑term health, understanding warning signs, and adopting preventive measures to reduce cancer risk.

The session was well-received and highlighted the hospital’s commitment to community outreach and public health education.

Dr. Prabhakaran, Consultant, Cardiology, delivered an insightful session on Resistant Hypertension at a professional gathering held in Lucknow.

During his talk, he discussed the clinical challenges in diagnosing and managing resistant hypertension, the importance of evaluating secondary causes, and evidence‑based treatment strategies to achieve better blood pressure control.
