Menstrual health is a vital sign, yet it remains one of the most overlooked aspects of women’s healthcare in India. Studies reveal that up to 87% of Indian women report menstrual disorders, with dysmenorrhea (painful periods) affecting nearly 46% overall and reaching 70% among adolescent girls. These staggering numbers highlight the urgent need for awareness, diagnosis, and timely medical intervention.








World Breastfeeding Week 2025 Celebrations at Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals

Dr. Mehta’s Hospital proudly celebrated World Breastfeeding Week from August 1st to 7th, 2025, with the global theme “Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems.” The event brought together faculty, clinicians, students, parents, and the wider hospital community for an inspiring and educational series of activities.
Inauguration and Week Overview
The week began with an inauguration ceremony on August 1st, attended by senior faculty and healthcare professionals, setting a collaborative tone to promote the importance of breastfeeding for maternal and child health.
Quiz Competitions and Community Engagement
On August 2nd, a knowledge-based quiz competition for doctors and nurses focused on breastfeeding practices and guidelines, while a separate awareness quiz for parents in the OPD helped educate and empower families about breastfeeding benefits and dispelled common myths.
Debate on Sustainability
A highlight was the Day 4 debate: “Sustainability starts from home or community?”, which brought lively discussion. Participants noted the mutual importance of family-level support and broader community policies to sustain breastfeeding, echoing the global call for robust support systems.
Interactive Learning Corners
Throughout the week, a vibrant e-poster display and nutrition education corner were featured, with WCC and SIET students demonstrating healthy weaning foods and maternal nutrition essentials. These components encouraged visitor engagement and hands-on learning.
Valedictory and Recognition
The celebrations ended with a valedictory ceremony honoring active participants for their contributions. The week reinforced that breastfeeding is a shared responsibility—and a cornerstone for sustainable development and lifelong health.


Two-Day Workshop on Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Neonates Held at Dr. Mehta’s Hospital

The Department of Neonatology conducted a two-day workshop on point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in neonates using the NeoPocus simulation, facilitated by the Neo Scan team. The workshop took place on 2nd and 3rd August 2025 at Dr. Mehta’s Hospital. This hands-on training strengthened skills in neonatal ultrasound, enhancing bedside diagnostic capabilities among participants.

Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Program Conducted on 6th August 2025

A Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) was successfully conducted on 6th August 2025 at Mehta Multispeciality Hospitals, with 42 participants including nurses and nursing students. The session covered essential steps of newborn resuscitation as per the latest NRP guidelines, incorporating hands-on skill stations and simulation-based training. Participants actively engaged in learning and demonstrated improved knowledge and confidence in neonatal emergency care, reinforcing the importance of timely and effective resuscitation for newborns.

This marked the first-ever bloodless bilateral inguinal hernia surgery at Dr. Mehta’s Hospital, exemplifying tailored surgical approaches that prioritize safety for high-risk patients.
