Founded in 1933 by Dr. Anantrai Jayantilal Mehta, the hospital began as a modest two-bed nursing home in Sowcarpet. The institution was built upon a commitment to compassionate, accessible, and patient-centric care, principles that continue to guide its operations today.
In 1940, Dr. Savitaben Mehta joined the practice, becoming one of the earliest Gujarati female physicians to practice in Madras. As a dedicated gynecologist, she fostered an environment of profound trust and comfort for expectant mothers, earning the affectionate title of “Amma” from the community she served.
Strategic Growth and Historic Milestones

- 1955: Expanded into a dedicated surgical and birthing facility in Chetpet, laying the groundwork for its renowned expertise in obstetrics and neonatal care.
